Meet the Dean
Welcome to the College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences (CETPS) at
Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø! I am honored to serve as the Dean of the College and am committed
to provide the best education, research and training opportunity to our students.
I look forward to seeing you on campus.
Dr. Deng earned his Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Tennessee. He started his academic career in 1992 at Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø (Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø) as a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering and Technology. In 1997, he joined the inaugural Mechanical Engineering Program at Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø, and is a current professor. In 2015, Dr. Deng became the Faculty Associate for Research and Scholarship in the CETPS. During his continuous career at Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø, he has served as principal investigator on multiple externally-funded research grants and contracts. Dr. Deng’s honors include the Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø Outstanding Teacher in 2013, the Outstanding Faculty of the Year in CETPS in 2013 and 2018, and the Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø Outstanding Researcher in 2018. In August 2019, he was appointed to serve as the Interim Dean of the CETPS.
