Criteria for Academic Honors

The 2026 Academic Honors Convocation presents award for achievements in the Spring 2025/Fall 2025 semesters. There are seven (7) award categories. For a brief award overview, review the following criteria for all award categories:

      • Full-time enrollment (completion of 12 credit hours or more, at the University, in the awarding semesters);
      • No enrollment in developmental/transitional courses in the Spring 2025 and/or Fall 2025 semesters, such as EDU 010, EDU 010L, EDU 011, ENG 010, MTH 010, MTH 011, MTH 012, and/or MTH 013; 
      • No grades below “C”. Pass/Fail and Incomplete grades are not included; 
      • Presidential medallion (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Dean’s List categories require enrollment in BOTH Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters
      • Freshman President’s list and Freshman Dean’s list require enrollment in the Fall 2025 semester only
      • With the exception of the Honor Roll (which is based on a student’s semester GPA in the Spring 2025 and/or Fall 2025), EVERY other award category is based on a student’s CUMULATIVE (not  semester) GPA. 
      • Presidential Medallion categories (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) require sophomore standing (at least 31 credit hours earned) at the completion of the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semester. Courses must have been completed at the University.

PRESIDENT’S MEDALLION

Recipients for the following medallions (GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE) must have completed a minimum of 31 cumulative credits at the university in both semesters, by the end of Spring 2025 AND Fall 2025, with at least sophomore standing for both semesters, enrolled full-time (students enrolled part-time are ineligible) in both semesters, in the regular academic program, and meet the requirements below. 

  • 4.0 Gold President's Medallion
      • Any undergraduate student who has a 4.0 cumulative grade point average with at least full-time status, in the regular academic program each semester (Spring 2025 and Fall 2025), with at least sophomore standing in Spring 2025 and Fall 2025, is eligible for this category. No grade below C, no enrollment in developmental/transitional courses.
  • 3.8 – 3.99 Silver Medallion
      • Any undergraduate student who has a 3.8 – 3.99 cumulative grade point average with at least full-time status, in the regular academic program each semester (Spring 2025 and Fall 2025), with at least sophomore standing in Spring 2025 and Fall 2025, is eligible for this category. No grade below C, no enrollment in developmental/transitional courses. 
  • 3.7 – 3.79 Bronze Medallion
      • Any undergraduate student who has a 3.7 – 3.79 cumulative grade point average with at least full-time status, in the regular academic program each semester (Spring 2025 and Fall 2025), with at least sophomore standing in Spring 2025 and Fall 2025, is eligible for this category. No grade below C, no enrollment in developmental/transitional courses.

***Please Note: Students enrolled in the following developmental/transitional courses are INELIGIBILE: Reading (EDU 010), Reading with Lab (EDU 010L), College Reading (EDU 011), Developmental English (ENG 010), Developmental Mathematics (MTH 010), Fundamentals of Mathematics (MTH 011), Intermediate Algebra (MTH 012), Modern Mathematics (MTH 013). Pass/Fail and Incomplete grades are not included.

FRESHMAN PRESIDENT’S AWARD

Recognition is given to any freshman student who obtains a 4.00 grade point average in their first semester of enrollment (Fall 2025) and completes at least full-time status, in the regular academic program, no enrollment in developmental/transitional courses.

***Please Note: Students enrolled in the following developmental/transitional courses are INELIGIBILE: Reading (EDU 010), Reading with Lab (EDU 010L), College Reading (EDU 011), Developmental English (ENG 010), Developmental Mathematics (MTH 010), Fundamentals of Mathematics (MTH 011), Intermediate Algebra (MTH 012), Modern Mathematics (MTH 013). Pass/Fail and Incomplete grades are not included.

DEAN’S LIST

Recognition is given to any undergraduate student who achieves an overall (cumulative) quality point average of 3.3 and above, for two consecutive semesters (Spring 2025 and Fall 2025), has earned no grade below “C”, enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours per semester in the regular academic program, no enrollment in developmental/transitional courses.   

***Please Note: Students enrolled in the following developmental/transitional courses are INELIGIBILE: Reading (EDU 010), Reading with Lab (EDU 010L), College Reading (EDU 011), Developmental English (ENG 010), Developmental Mathematics (MTH 010), Fundamentals of Mathematics (MTH 011), Intermediate Algebra (MTH 012), Modern Mathematics (MTH 013). Pass/Fail and Incomplete grades are not included.

FRESHMAN DEAN’S LIST

Any Fall semester first-time freshman (Fall 2025), who achieves a grade point average of 3.3 and above, with full-time status, in the regular academic program, no enrollment in developmental/transitional courses, is eligible for the Freshman Dean’s List.

***Please Note: Students enrolled in the following developmental/transitional courses are INELIGIBILE: Reading (EDU 010), Reading with Lab (EDU 010L), College Reading (EDU 011), Developmental English (ENG 010), Developmental Mathematics (MTH 010), Fundamentals of Mathematics (MTH 011), Intermediate Algebra (MTH 012), Modern Mathematics (MTH 013). Pass/Fail and Incomplete grades are not included.

HONOR ROLL

Recognition is given to any undergraduate student who has attained a semester grade point average of 3.00 or better, has earned no grade below “C”, with full-time enrollment in the regular academic program, no enrollment in developmental/transitional courses. This is the only award category that recognizes semester achievement (semester GPA). Students can be eligible for the Spring 2025 and/or Fall 2025.

special recognition & awards

HONDA CAMPUS ALL–STAR CHALLENGE TEAM

Students are eligible to become a member of the team after competing in an on–campus competition event. The highest– scoring students are invited to try out for the team in a competitive challenge. Four students who successfully complete the on–campus competition and the auditions are selected to the University’s official Honda Campus All–Star Challenge Academic Team.

OUTSTANDING SCHOLARS

Superior students, of senior classification, selected by the four academic colleges and University Athletics, on the basis of grade point average, pre–professional involvement, civic engagement activities, extracurricular activities, and service–related contributions.

THE 鶹ý ALUMNI SENIOR AWARD

An award given by the 鶹ý Alumni Association to the 鶹ý senior
with the highest cumulative grade point average over a period of four years.
