Trio Receive Scholarships

Three Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø team members participated in a half-day immersion led by Gucci team members and executives.  Part of 35 students representing 10 universities, the Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø students learned about the history of Gucci, took part in panel discussions focusing on minorities in fashion, and explored career opportunities with the company.

Participants included Justin Lindberg, a senior computer science major from Chicago, Ill.; Dermyrius Lindsey-Lewis, a senior computer science major from Mobile, Ala.; and Dominique Spence, a senior business management major from Albany, Ga.

According to electrical engineering and computer science instructor Terry Miller, the students also participated in a pitch competition, offering solutions to social, educational and economic problems facing communities surrounding their HBCU.

Finally, the Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø team developed a program for Gucci that would provide educational and master classes around luxury brands and careers.  Each team member received a $5,000 scholarship and an Off the Grid backpack.
